The Heckler & Koch MP5 is a machine gun built by Heckler & Koch (HK). It is very reliable, accurate, and packed with accessories and variations, which have made it a favourite weapon of military and police forces around the world

The original MP5 was available with either a fixed or telescopic stock. Some variants were not equipped with the '3-shot burst' mode, others had only that. In 1971 with the MP5A2 and in 1973 (MP5A3), HK made significant changes to the MP5

The next stage of evolution was the MP5SD (SD1-SD6) series from 1974. This model was equipped with an integratedsilencer and a specially designed barrel to reduce the muzzle velocity of the ammunition to just below that of sound. The result was a weapon that was inaudible at more than 15 metres. For this reason and because of the very low firing rate, it was chosen as the weapon of choice for covert operations in many special forces
